Conservation by Re-use
Helping churches acquire surplus and/or redundant bells to be hung for
English-style full-circle bell-ringing.
The ex-Goran bell at Loughborough prior to installation as the tenor bell at Ab Kettleby.
Ab Kettleby, Leicestershire,
The church closed in 2006 because of structural problems but the local villagers raised over £250,000 to repair the church. It reopened during 2013 and has been the recipient of a English Heritage Angel award to mark the achievement of saving the historic building.
The minor-key ring of three has been augmented to six by adding two newly cast treble bells and a tenor bell ex-Gorran, Cornwall. The work was completed during January 2016.
